Austin woke up to sleet and snow accumulations ranging from half an inch to 2 inches on Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The Austin area is expected to get 1-2 inches of a wintry mix of snow and sleet on Monday and Tuesday. Austin ISD and other local school districts have announced closures for Tuesday.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued from 6 p.m. today (1/20) to 6 p.m. on Tuesday (1/21). This means snow and sleet are possible and could lead to some travel issues overnight. It's cold enough now for wintry precipitation,

Storm Warning is in effect until 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Snow, ice and sleet could fall from Monday night through Tuesday. We expect much of the area to see 2 to 4 inches of snow, but some areas could see more.
