Seated next to Baseball Writers’ Association of America Career Excellence Award winner Thomas Boswell of The Washington Post, Hamilton also expressed his deep appreciation for baseball’s literary tradition, saying he believes “the best writers cover baseball” and that the sport has been “blessed with the best books, the best stories.”
