Penn State interim head coach Terry Smith is reportedly garnering support for a promotion. According to Pete Nakos of On3.com, "top-level Penn State donors are pushing" for athletic director Pat Kraft to promote Smith to the full-time head coaching position.
Terry Smith, who has served as interim coach since Oct. 12, will coach Penn State in the game. He has agreed to remain on the staff under new coach Matt Campbell, who will be introduced Monday. Clemson, Duke, Louisville and Pitt are among the possible opponents from the ACC.
