Stellantis is resurrecting its popular V-8 Hemi engine for its Ram 1500 full-size pickup trucks beginning this summer.

The V-8's resurrection comes as President Donald Trump's administration and a GOP-controlled Congress have moved toward cutting back stringent emissions and fuel economy standards, including those set by California. The reversal also comes as Ram has continually delayed launching its planned new electrified pickups.

When Ram updated the DT Generation 1500 for the 2025 model year, the truck jumped over to Stellantis’s "Atlantis High" electronic architecture. The brand’s version of the Hemi was never designed to operate in that system,
