It appeared that Texas A&M might face its first loss of the season, which would jeopardize its chances of winning the SEC championship. The Aggies made a strong comeback, dominating the second half with a 28-0 score to win 31-30.
The SEC on Monday announced its kickoff times and TV information for Week 14, games of Nov. 28-29. All 16 SEC teams are in action that week, with the top games including Alabama-Auburn, Texas-Texas A&M and Georgia-Georgia Tech. There are three games on Friday and seven more on Saturday.
Texas was embarrassed on the road at Georgia over the weekend. The Longhorns trailed 14-10 before Georgia scored 21 unanswered in the final quarter. Texas is now 7-3 with games against Arkansas and Texas A&M remaining. Its playoff hopes took a huge hit, but the Longhorns are not fully dead yet.
Auburn entered this season optimistic about its roster's perceived talent, as Barrie mentioned. The Tigers secured the No. 8-ranked transfer portal class and made several important additions, including quarterback Jackson Arnold from Oklahoma and wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. from Georgia Tech.
Should Texas A&M and Alabama meet, the Aggies would have locked in a top-4 seed and opening-round bye in the College Football Playoff. Texas A&M could even overtake top-ranked Ohio State with 13-0 finish given the strength of schedule.
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey desires playoff expansion, but the hour grows late to strike a deal to grow the CFP by next season.
