Sepp Straka held off Shane Lowry to win the Truist Championship at TPC Sawgrass and secure his first solo PGA Tour win, with focus also on the Ryder Cup later this year

Rory McIlroy was fully invested in his friend Shane Lowry's performance during the final round of the Truist Championship on Sunday. The Northern Irishman saw his own title defence fall short, finishing six shots behind winner Sepp Straka after carding a round of 68.

If it wasn’t going to be Rory McIlroy, another Irishman would suffice. In the final pairing Sunday, Shane Lowry was the no-doubt crowd favorite. Irish flags and soccer kits dotted some of the galleries.
