Josh Smith hit a two-run home run, Wyatt Langford had a bases-clearing double and the surging Texas Rangers piled up eight runs in the first three innings in an 8-1 victory over the struggling Atlanta Braves on Sunday.

Langford, stuck in a swing-happy scuffle for the last month, hit a bases-loaded double in the first inning to kickstart an offensive outburst that anchored a 8-1 sweep-clinching win vs. the Atlanta Braves Sunday at Globe Life Field.

Marcus Semien hit an RBI single in the 10th inning and the Texas Rangers beat the Atlanta Braves 6-5 on Saturday night, seven innings after the second baseman took a 94.6 mph fastball to the helmet

Michael Harris II hit a dinger to break the drought in the seventh and then he scored one of two runs for the Braves in the ninth inning. By then, the game was well in hand for Texas after they smacked Rafael Montero for four runs in the eighth inning. Blah.

That leaves designated hitter Marcell Ozuna, a three-time All-Star who has had a down year to this point, as the biggest name to watch on the Braves roster between now and Thursday.

Marcus Semien kept the good times rolling Saturday night with a walk-off single to beat the Atlanta Braves and clinch the team’s fourth consecutive series victory. That includes series wins over the division-leading Astros and Tigers, plus a sweep of the Athletics.

The Atlanta Braves placed right-hander Grant Holmes on the 15-day injured list on Sunday, meaning all five of the club's starters on Opening Day are on the injured list.
