While there are some notable drawbacks to the Los Angeles Chargers opening the season overseas in Brazil, it’s worth pointing out that Jim Harbaugh’s team has been tabbed by the NFL for a special occasion.

While the Lions will play a tough schedule, the travelling they will do ranks near the bottom of the league. In terms of total miles to travel, the Lions rank fourth-lowest in the league. The team's longest trip will be to SoFi Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Rams, while the shortest will be their annual trip to Chicago.

The Steelers finished second in the AFC North in 2024, meaning they will play a second-place schedule in the 2025 season. That gave them the draw of the Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts, and Los Angeles Chargers for the open holes on their schedule as unique opponents compared to the rest of the AFC North.

The Chargers will travel nearly five times farther than the Bengals in 2025, because it's rough in the NFL for a West Coast team.
