The Penguin star Colin Farrell has weighed in on the possibility of a second season for the HBO series, and appears to confirm that Matt Reeves has instead shifted focus to The Batman Part II and Part III.

The most recent update on The Batman 2 is that the script is complete and with DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn. Beyond that, updates have been scarce on this project, which is one of the most highly anticipated upcoming DC movies.

Both The Batman and The Penguin are streaming now on HBO Max. Part II is currently expected to arrive in theaters on October 1st, 2027 so it's not on the 2025 or 2026 movie release list. We'll just have to wait and re-watch the previous two projects.

The Penguin was never anyone’s favorite Batman villain. But somehow, the HBO series starring Colin Farrell as the notorious Gotham criminal became one of the best series of 2024.

Though the actor is no stranger to starring in TV shows including in Modern Love, Made for Love and Black Mirror, which have all earned nominations, she admitted to keeping her jitters at bay by “purposefully keeping” her phone at the bottom of her bag, unchecked, until the nominations reveal ended this morning.
