NBC Nightly News anchor and managing editor, Lester Holt, has stepped down from the long-running program after 10 years. Newsweek reached out to Holt's representative via email for comment. Holt was named anchor of NBC Nightly News in June 2015.

Lester Holt stepped down from his longtime role on Friday, meaning there'll be a new anchor leading "NBC Nightly News."

Holt is set to anchor his final broadcast and focus on a full-time role at "Dateline" after working the nighttime segment for a decade.
