Cedar Rapids KCRG-TV on MSNWorld’s most premature baby born in Iowa City
IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Anyone who has been around one-year-old Nash Keen knows he’s a happy, talkative, and giggly baby boy. His family and doctors call him a miracle. Born at 133 days premature, Nash now holds Guinness World Record for the most premature baby.
Although most studies measuring premature-baby outcomes start at 22 and 23 weeks — reporting U.S. survival rates between 10 and 20 percent at that gestation — University of Iowa Health Care is among the few hospital systems that take on babies at 21 weeks.
