A huge melee broke out at the start of Saturday's pay-per-view main card at Madison Square Garden between members of Khabib Nurmagomedov's team and Danis. Punches were flying in a chaotic scene, which caused security and police officers to intervene. As a result, Danis was escorted out of the arena.

Danis took several punches to the back of the head that appeared to be thrown by Magomed Zaynukov during the exchange, while UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell, among other security officials, attempted to break up the spat. Danis had to be apprehended by security.

The main event of UFC 322 ended up being a fight that very few are going to watch back but to call Makhachev boring as a result is simply not a fair reflection as he’s proven to be the exact opposite of this in high-stakes fights against top opposition on several occasions.
