The iPhone 18 Pro will start at $1,199 in the US, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max will set you back $1,299, both with 256GB of storage. They’ll be available for preorder this Saturday and will go on sale on Sept. 18.

Starting with design, both models carry over the same “candy bar” silhouette introduced with last year’s iPhone 17 Pro. That unmistakable camera plateau on the back, the triangular lens arrangement, and the dual-tone glass-and-metal rear panel all return virtually unchanged.

As usual, the new iPhone has a new chip. It’s called A20 Pro, and it’s the first 2 nm chip for the iPhone. It has a 6-core CPU, with two super-cores that are up to 20 percent faster, and four efficiency cores. A 7-core GPU offers up to 40 percent improved performance and increased bandwidth.

The 20W output is enough to fast-charge any iPhone 8 or later. And since Apple doesn’t ship power adapters in the iPhone box, the USB-A holdouts have been working around that gap with a laptop brick, a hand-me-down, or nothing at all. This brings you up to date, and it also works with any other USB-C device.
