The Sentry at Kapalua gets canceled instead of going to another course. Sony Open to start season
The PGA Tour is cancelling The Sentry instead of moving the tournament to a new course. The Sentry has been played at Kapalua on Maui since 1999.
After assessing a variety of options, the PGA TOUR announced Wednesday that The Sentry will not be contested in 2026. The Sony Open in Hawaii, held Jan. 12-18,
About 24 hours after the PGA Tour said The Sentry would not be played in 2026, the Plantation Course at Kapalua announced it will soon re-open.
