Rescue operations were underway to find anyone lost in the debris after the catastrophic weekend storm, which caused the sprawling Guadalupe River to swell rapidly to near-unprecedented levels.

More than 160 people are still believed to be missing in Texas days after flash floods killed over 100 people during the July Fourth weekend, the state's governor said Tuesday.

Authorities have confirmed at least 120 deaths across six counties, including those of 59 adults and 36 children in Kerr County.
