A boat was destroyed after catching fire on Fox Lake in Antioch on Tuesday afternoon. The fire was reported at just after 1:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Antioch Fire Department.

Fox Lake Mayor Donny Schmit walked the parade route handing out candy to children and saying hello to residents and visitors. “Thank you everyone for coming out,” he said.

Fox Lake Mayor Donny Schmit, appeared along with the village’s mascot, Beacon the Pelican. “It’s what we’re all about,” Schmit said about the parade tradition.
