What the Farmer’s Almanac predicts for Texas this spring
The famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, just predicted six more weeks of winter. Here in Texas, where much of the state has seen highs in the 80s this week, Beaumont’s Big Al agreed, and the armadillo Bee Cave Bob did too – but shortened the extended winter by three weeks.

"For May, the entire region will experience above-normal temperatures and rainfall," The Old Farmer's Almanac says. "Much of Kentucky, southern Illinois and Indiana, and neighboring areas will begin April with below-normal temperatures and precipitation, while it will be normal elsewhere."
