Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko rallied to reach the WTA Canadian Open final, beating ninth-seeded Elena Rybakina 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (4) on Wednesday. Mboko had saved a match point in the third set and broke her Ukrainian opponent twice to force the tie-breaker.

Canadian wildcard Victoria Mboko saved a match point on the way to a thrilling 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7/4) victory over former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) to reach the final of the WTA Canadian Open.

Mboko came from a set down to oust the 2022 Wimbledon champion in a three-setter that ebbed and flowed to the end.
