The Southwest Incident Management Team 4 has assumed command of the Cody Fire burning near Oracle.In a Friday evening update, the Coronado National Forest said the fire was still around 1,200 acres and 5% contained.

Some homes in the community of Oracle, north of Tucson, have been destroyed by the Cody Fire, which started Wednesday afternoon in the Coronado Forest.
Chloe Jeffrey and her fiancé were running their sandwich shop, ‘Simply Sandwiches’, in Oracle like normal on Wednesday afternoon, when their lives changed forever. They had been concerned about the Cedar Fire and had loaded up a trailer with some of their belongings in case they needed to evacuate, but by Wednesday, their worries were gone.
A family in Oracle described leaving their home for the last time as the flames from the Cody Fire closed around them.
As the Cody fire, now spanning over 1,200 acres according to the Coronado National Forest, continues near Oracle, more than 1,100 people have been advised to evacuate. But, residents have stepped up to help neighbors in need.
