By Cassandra Garrison MEXICO CITY (Reuters) -Judges aligned with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum's ruling Morena political party are expected to dominate the country's Supreme Court after a vote that critics feared would weaken checks and balances on the executive branch's power.

All nine seats on Mexico’s Supreme Court were taken by people with links to the ruling party. A new disciplinary tribunal which is empowered to punish judges will probably have a similar hue. The electoral tribunal looks like it will tilt the same way.

Preliminary vote tallies from Mexico's first judicial elections indicate the ruling Morena party is headed toward control over the Supreme Court.
