The bout ended after Oliveira stepped into the pocket for an exchange when Topuria unloaded a hellacious right hook that effectively ended the Brazilian’s night,

Oliveira, 35, was violently knocked out by Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0) at the 2:27 mark into their vacant lightweight championship main event bout Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He remained on the canvas for a couple minutes following the sequence, but was back on his feet for the official decision's reading.

Oliveira, 35, is now 1-2 in UFC lightweight title shots, failing to become the first-ever two-time lightweight champion in the promotion's history. On the flipside, Topuria became the first man to become a two-division champion while maintaining an undefeated record.
