The Seattle Mariners kicked off their trade deadline activity Thursday by acquiring a former All-Star from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

On Thursday, the Seattle Mariners acquired All-Star first baseman Josh Naylor from the Arizona Diamondbacks for pitching prospects Ashton Izzi and Brandyn Garci

The Diamondbacks continued to make deals Saturday, trading outfielder Randal Grichuk to the Royals, according to a baseball source. The club has not confirmed, and the return is not known at this time.

While Naylor may not be the impact bat that the Mariners had been shopping for, he does have plenty of power. He hit 31 homers as part of an All-Star season for Cleveland in 2024 and should provide more power for a Marines lineup that could use a boost.
