Indian national, Amit Gupta, who works in Qatar as Tech Mahindra's country head has allegedly been in a detention centre for over two months over alleged data theft, according to an IANS report.

Amit Gupta who has worked for the IT firm Tech Mahindra for nearly 12 years was detained by the Qatari authorities on January 1, 2025, over claims of an alleged data theft.

Amit Gupta is the country head for Indian technology company Tech Mahindra in Kuwait and Qatar. He moved to Doha, Qatar's capital, for work in 2013.
