A 16-year-old boy was hurt after police said he was shot on Wednesday night.  Albany Police responded to a report of a shooting around 8 p.m. in the area of Hummel Terrace and Second Avenue.

Elijah Elliott rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown, and Nicholas Stoyanovich made a game-winning field goal in the fourth quarter to give Bryant a 27-24 win over Albany on Saturday.

Police said the shooting happened around 8 p.m. The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Albany Police are investigating a homicide on Tuesday night.Police said officers responded to Robin Street and Bradford Street around 7:30 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. They found 34-year-old Edward Ponder with multiple stab wounds near the road.

Dartmouth plays Albany for a non-conference matchup. Monday's meeting is the first this season for the two teams.

City police found Edward Ponder with multiple stab wounds around 7:30 p.m. near Robin and Bradford streets. The city firefighters' union posted online that they administered CPR and requested police. Ponder was treated by firefighters and EMS workers and pronounced dead at the scene, according to Albany police.

The South Albany volleyball team experienced a few more bumps in the road to the Class 5A championship match Saturday night at Forest Grove High School.
