Georgia's defense shut down Ty Simpson and the Crimson Tide offense on the way to a dominant victory in the SEC Championship Game

Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart picked up his first win against Alabama in the SEC championship game, as he was 0-4 against the Crimson Tide for an SEC title in his career. Smart also improved to 2-7 against Alabama, with his last win coming in the 2022 CFP national championship game.

The former Crimson Tide coach previewed the upcoming SEC Championship matchup between Alabama and Georgia and provided his own insight as to how Ty Simpson can alleviate some of his recent struggles.

Roy Kramer, who as SEC commissioner led the conference’s expansion from 10 schools to 12 and created the SEC championship game, died on Thursday. He was 96. Kramer’s death was announced Friday by the league office. His passing came two days before this year’s SEC championship game between Alabama and Georgia in Atlanta.
