PARIS — Lorenzo Musetti used his sleek one-handed backhand and sprint-then-slide court coverage to reach his first semifinal at the French Open, and second at a Grand Slam tournament, by beating Frances Tiafoe 6-2,

Things looked rough for Tiafoe early. Tiafoe struggled with his accuracy and mechanics in the first set, sending easily returnable shots way out of bounds. Musetti capitalized on those struggles, going up 3-0 to start the first set.

For the first time in their careers, Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka will face off at the French Open. Swiatek dominated Elina Svitolina in straight sets to become one step closer to becoming the first woman in the Open Era to four-peat at Roland-Garros.
