Yes we did go to the motel first. We did it the motel overnight with the dinner train package. This allowed us to get in a little earlier and prepare for the bus to take us to the train.

I don’t recall the cost. The dinner was good... the train experience was so so. I understand that it takes a lot of money to operate this venue, but truthfully the overall cost was a bit more than its value.... at least for me it was. Others may place a higher value on all of it, therefore feel it is worth the money.
